Places of interest Guest Rooms in the Ardennes Vieux Moulin de Lodomez The city of Stavelot, with its impressive history, belongs to the cultural inheritance and has a discrete charm. One of the oldest abbeys in Belgium goes back to 648 when Sigebert, the King of the Franks, instructed Saint Remacle, a monk from Limoges, to evangelise the region. In Walloon this means: ‘Go to your stable, wolf!’ This saying finally resulted in the word Stavleu...Stavelot. For now tourism is the most important attraction: the abbey with its many places of recreation, the many museums, the monuments and the typical alleys, the famous Laetare and the ‘Blancs Moussis’, the theatre festival in July and the music festival in August, many walking and hiking possibilities.
